Frequently Asked Questions

  • What counselling services do you offer?

I offer individual, adult counselling both online and in person. Using an integrative approach – blending together person centred, CBT, Gestalt, transaction analysis, and attachment theory, to create an approach tailored for my clients.

  • How many counselling sessions will I need?

I don't put a limit on the number of sessions. Whether you're looking for brief support or longer-term therapy, we'll discuss what works best for you in our initial meeting and create a tailored plan together.

  • How long is a counselling session?

A counselling session is typically 1 hour, although I do offer 2 hour sessions if you feel you'll this will benefit from this.

  • What if I'm in crisis?

While counselling is great to support you with your mental health, it isn't crisis support, and it may not be suitable for you if you are in need of crisis support first.

Crisis support can be found at your local GP, A&E departments, Samaritans +44-116123 and National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK +44-08006895652

  • What can I expect during my first counselling session?

During your first session I'll ask you questions to get to know you better and understand what brings you to counselling. We will also talk through my contract so you can gain an understanding of how I work. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the counselling process.

  • How much does a session cost?

The fee for a one-hour session is generally £45. I do understand that everyone’s financial situation is unique, and I strongly believe that shouldn’t be a barrier to accessing support, so I do offer a reduced rate for single parents and those receiving Universal Credit. Please feel comfortable bringing up any financial concerns you might have, and we can discuss how I can help.

  • How often do I need counselling sessions

This depends on a few things: Your availability, financial situation, and your goals, to name a few. I offer weekly and bi-weekly sessions based on what works for you, which can be discussed during your first session – we can also adjust this along your journey to suite you.

  • Is there parking?

Yes, there’s off road parking available at the back of the property, as well as on street parking close by.

  • Is there wheelchair or disabled excess?

Unfortunately, no. There is a short staircase to access my office, so I cannot accommodate wheelchair access and those with limited mobility. I offer online sessions, if this would be an issue.
